Ponderosa High School

Ponderosa High School, founded in 1963, is a member of the El Dorado Union High School District. It is located on Ponderosa Road, Shingle Springs, California, USA, a semi-rural location. In the 2005-06 school year, there were 2,061 students enrolled. Ponderosa's mascot is the Bruin.

Ponderosa High School houses the agriculture program for the district. Ponderosa is a California Distinguished School and has met their API consistently over the past three years. They have also held first place in the El Dorado County Academic Decathlon for the past 16 years. They were recently recognized in the top 3% of American High Schools by US News and World Report.
Ponderosa High School, founded in 1963 by Jonathon Ponderosa, is a member of the El Dorado Union High School District. It is located at 3661 Ponderosa Rd. Shingle Springs, California 95682. In the 2005-06 school year, there were 2000 students enrolled. The school's daily schedule consists of a modified block schedule with three traditional days per week and two "block" days allowing for a total of seven classes. Ponderosa's mascot is the Bruin. Ponderosa became a California Distinguished School and has met their API consistently over the past year. They have also held first place in the El Dorado County Academic Decathlon for the past 14 years. Ponderosa High School has many different sports programs as well.
