Poncotsu Roman Daikatsugeki Bumpy Trot 2

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Poncotsu Roman Daikatsugeki Bumpy Trot 2 is the upcoming sequel to the game Steambot Chronicles (Bumpy Trot). It was officially announced that there would be a sequel on September 2006, at the Tokyo Game Show. It is currently in development by Irem Software Engineering. There isn't a lot known about this game, but screenshots[1] tell us the game will follow closely in its predecessor's footsteps. The original trailer raised suspicions of characters returning, many citing that Connie is seen near the end of the original trailer. Recently Famitsu revealed details that the title moved to the Playstation 3 instead of the Playstation 2, and that Irem would unveil at the 2007 TGS. The new trailer sports the game's graphical increase (while still using a cel-shaded style), and show casing more action oriented scenes than the first trailer (which was more focused on jobs/missions). Basil, another character from the original game, is seen traveling with the new main character (still unnamed) and the title's lead female (whose design has been heavily altered from earlier promotional material).

Currently, there is no mention of an outside of Japan release.

[edit] Plot

Details on the story are still scarce, though many speculate that the lead character is homeless (as the trailers show him hanging out on the sidewalks). How he and the girl go into the music business is still unknown as well.

[edit] Setting

The first trailer showed a wintery city that was unfamiliar from the first title's three major locations. But the ending showed what appeared to be the starting town (Nefroburg) and the recent trailer shows what seems to be the same location as well.
