Answers to image questions

You can certainly upload an album cover; there's a special tag for them (after you click upload file, select album cover on the licensing drop-down list). I don't think you can put up photos taken by other people unless you have their permission. However, promotional pictures are allowed. EdGl 18:32, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I missed your message because someone after you posted a message on my talk and I only read that one. I don't seem to see it on the licensing drop-down list, but just add {{promotional}} to the file page and that should do it. →EdGl 00:53, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Adoption

Hello! I see your seeking adoption. If your still interested I'd me more then happy to answer your questions and help you out. You can respond back to this by leaving a message here. If you have decided that you no longer wish to be adopted, please remove the adoptee's userbox from your userpage. Thanks, hope to hear from you soon! Matthew Yeager 03:20, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Adoption Program

Hello again and welcome to the adoption program!

Please take some time to think about what you would like out of this program and what you can devote to it. After you have thought about this please message me on my talk page about which areas you would like to focus on. As well, if you are completely new or you are not sure, you can let me know that and I can give you a general overview. You will get as much as you put in with this program. If you would like me to be someone that you can ask questions to every once and a while, then thats who i'll be. Yet, if you wish to be in constant contact with me and have me go over your work with you each day or so, then thats who i will be. This is your choice, just please let me know :P

Also if you could please remove the adoptee userbox from your userpage so that others know you have been adopted. If you like you can replace it with this user box:

Thank you for your time, Matthew Yeager 13:47, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

LEARNING !!!

alright, i'll start off with subpages. you can create a subpage just by putting User:Polishname/test then clicking on the link and putting whatever you want there. try to follow this example and create your own table.

Example
this is a header
four five six
seven eight nine
ten eleven tweleve

aaa bbb ccc
Multiplication table
× 1 2 3
1 1 2 3
2 2 4 6
3 3 6 9
4 4 8 12
5 5 10 15

try different things out, combining some of the different quality of each table on your new test subpage. for a list of all the cool colors you can you check here. let me know if you have any questions, i'll come by and check out your test page later to see how your doing. let me know when you think you have a handle on this and i'll take it up to the next level for you. Matthew Yeager 02:31, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

problems ?

let me know if you run into any problems, if you have questions, or if you are ready to move on. i'm going to repost your comment on your wall so that i can find it easier. let me know what i cna do to help you more! Matthew Yeager 04:58, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for the message! From this adoption I would like to be able to:

  • Create templates
  • Create boxes and tables
  • Add references
  • Use complecated and advanced code

I will be able to put in probably couple of hours a week (I can't spend too long as I'm in education!) on this adoption and Wikipedia. Once again, thanks a lot for adopting me! Bye for now —PolishName 16:56, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Exams

no problem at all buddy, good luck on the exams!!! just let me know when your back in action, no rush. Matthew Yeager 20:05, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Just wanted to let you know a brought in an awesome adopter to help you out as well!!! this way you have twice as many people to always help you out. To make it easy for you, only post questions on his talk page and i'll check that. the other adopter is Senators. He will be able to answer most any question, and i'll be here to help look over your edits and review any work you would like us to look at. i figure the more people you have checking your work out the faster you can learn and grow! if you have any questions just let Senators know and he'll be more then happy to get back to you.

Jars of Clay

Hey, jus saw ur <gallery> ... </gallery> creation on the JoC article. And so thought I'd drop a note of thanks - Thanks! :) I guess every lil bit counts. Keep on editing! aJCfreak yAkBaK 16:43, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Exactly. I know the feeling. And I AM thankful for your contrib to the article, small though it may seem to some... I myself jus didn't have the time to do the necessary edits. Its nice to see others taking an active part in improving the article! Guess that's what Wikipedia's all about, ain't it? Happy wiki-ing!!! aJCfreak yAkBaK 19:03, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Anyways, jus lookin thru yer talk page and i'm tempted to flick the various tables lessons given out earlier. ;) D'ya mind?! aJCfreak yAkBaK 19:13, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Flicking tables

Ummm... Sorry. Mebbe its not a word used outside this region of the world?! Flick, loosely means "to steal". Or atleast, that's the usage of the word in these parts. Sorry bout the confuso! :D Feelin sheepish. aJCfreak yAkBaK 19:34, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Seeing that you're the guys who gave us the language...... (I'm Indian, in case ya didn't know) Wonder how we ever got to using the word? Maybe Americanilism or somethin???? Well, whateva it is - may I go ahead and flick 'em when I've got the time to go through them? aJCfreak yAkBaK 20:23, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Sure, thanks! Will let ya know if I come up with something good! aJCfreak yAkBaK 20:27, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: Aaron Sprinkle album covers

The covers are not available anywhere on the web anymore. I scanned them myself to put on the web for people who need the cover and wikipedia was one of the places i put it. Just saying but I don't see why all of a sudden tons of images are being deleted...

You can fix it because I don't have the slightest idea of what I need to put. --Mister Pine 23:25, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Image:Futureofforestrypromo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Futureofforestrypromo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 06:10, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Your 'free' or PD Images

Thank you for uploading images/media to Wikipedia! There is however another Wikimedia foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In the future, please consider creating an account and uploading media there instead. That way, all the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons. Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading!

Fair use rationale for Image:Futureofforestry-twilight.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Futureofforestry-twilight.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG 16:40, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you. Sfan00 IMG 16:47, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Dizmas crop.PNG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Dizmas crop.PNG.
