Talk:Police Federation of England and Wales
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article needs thoroughly re-writng. At the moment all it amounts to is an editing of information of the Police Federation website. There are some problematic issues it does not address -
- 1) The criticism of political interference in the police service when the Federation quite obviously is not adverse to political campaigning itself ie on drugs and pub opening hours.
- 2) The reflex automatic defense of police actions in the face of criticism - as immature as the reflex criticism of the police.
- 3) The absurd status of the Federation itself - statutory body and union in one unholy mix.
IMHO the police would be much better served by being allowed to have a proper independant union, but no govenment will allow that.

- I agree it needs a re-write and have tagged it as such. It's very POV and cites no sources. If I get any time I'll try to do some work to it. With regards to your points above, I could raise exactly the same critisisms of them too... Sapient 22:49, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- I've re-jigged it all, deleted some non-notable stuff and some very POV bits. Still needs to be balanced out and some sources would be nice too, I guess. Sapient 13:26, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
