The land between the Warthe and Oder (Warta and Odra) had previously been granted as fief by emperor Arnulf of Carinthia to dukes of Moravia/(Bohemia). A map depicts future 'Poland' (in center surrounded by neighbor countries [1] at time of person later called Mieszko I.
