The Large Jewel Blue Polyommatus loewii [1] [2] is a species of blue butterfly found in South East Asia.

The butterfly occurs in Sri Lanka and in India from South India to Orissa, and, in the north from Murree to Kumaon [3] The range extends to Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra and Java.[1]
Asia Minor, Kurdistan, Caucasus, Middle East, Iran - Chitral, Turkestan. Armenia (highland), Caucasus Major, Talysh Mts. Ghissar Afghanistan, Arbarp, 10 miles W of Kabul
