Polygodial is an active constituent of Tasmania Pepper (Tasmannia lanceolata), Paracress (Spilanthes acmella Ech.) and Water-pepper (Polygonum hydropiper).[1]
Chemically it is a drimane of formula C15H22O2.
It elicts a warm and pungent flavour.
