Beckman, of Cincinnati, Ohio, bred her pinto pony mare, Frosty, to the Thoroughbred stallion Hopper's Pride.
Despite her small size, Poltroon was awarded the individual bronze medal at the 1980 alternate Olympic Games at Fontainebleau, France, finishing with a score of 75.00 penalty points.
