Pollstar

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pollstar is the world's largest resource for international concert tour information. It collects and organizes information on concert ticket sales and artist tour schedules.

Founded in 1981, Pollstar has published a weekly magazine that has become a prominent trade publication for the concert industry. Pollstar was an early pioneer in providing concert tour information on-line, launching Pollstar.com in 1994 and providing tour itineraries free to music fans world-wide. The company also hosts a web site for music business professionals at PollstarPro.com. `

Pollstar services are subscription based, distributed worldwide and include the weekly magazine as well as access to an on-line database of international concert tour information and music industry contacts. Pollstar also provides news, box office summaries, tour itineraries and research for industry professionals.

As a member of the Associated Press (AP), Pollstar is frequently cited in news reports covering the music business and concert performances.

Each year Pollstar has a gathering of concert industry professionals called the Concert Industry Consortium (CIC) which is held either in late January or early February. CIC 2008 was held in Los Angeles on February 5 - 7, 2008.
