Polladras

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Polladras or Lower Polladras is a small settlement of around 50 residents[citation needed] near the larger villages of Breage and Carleen in the far west of Cornwall, England, UK. In reality, Polladras is a collection of small hamlets along two rural roads which part at the settlement's only real landmark, a green triangle. Despite its size, the area has several semi famous residents and former residents including Arthur Lenton the pianist who grew up in the surrounding area. It was also the home of one of the 18th centuries most colourful eccentrics, Arnold Mossup. The area is today mainly a home for commuters to Cornwall's larger settlements or retirees enjoying the relaxingly calm pace of life.
