South Holland is a Dutch Province. The Governmentis a Parliamentary Democracy. The People vote for senators who will represent the pronvince in the senate of the Netherlands( Called: Eerste Kamer der Staten-Generaal ). The senators are chosen with the 'Provinciale verkiezingen' ( English: Election of the Province ). And in de 'Gemeenteraadsverkiezingen' ( English: election of the Municipality )the People choose political leaders for the Municipalitys in the Province. South Holland is also the Political centre of the Netherlands, because the Capital is The Hague there's also where the Parliament is, and the International Court. Because the province is just a province of the Netherlands, and doesn't have a large degree of autonomy( like the Canadian provinces ), thats why moest of the dicitions are made in the Cabinet. Thats why south holland is a Constitutional Monarchy, the Dutch monarch is also head of state of the Province, he is represented in the province by a governor who is titled: Commesaris van de Koning(in). ( Commesary of the King/Queen ). The Current monarch is: Queen Beatrix. Though the Governor is the Sovereigns Representative, he isn't chosen by the Monarch, not by the Royal House. But the government is choosing him by royal degree, for a term of six years, and only the political government can dismissed him or cancel his contract. The duties of the Commesary of the Queen are mostly representative and ceremonial, though there are powers like, appointing mayors and send assist in times of disasters and trouble thats he is responsible for. The governor doesn't own any juridical power, nor many executive power.
