Polinago is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Modena in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 50 km southwest of Bologna and about 40 km southwest of Modena. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,862 and an area of 53.8 km².[1]

The municipality of Polinago contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Gombola, Brandola, Talbignano, S. Martino, and Cassano.

Polinago borders the following municipalities: Lama Mocogno, Palagano, Pavullo nel Frignano, Prignano sulla Secchia, Serramazzoni.
