Police and Thieves it was an album by Junior Murvin and backing band called The Upsetters, released in 1977. Along with The Heptones' Party Time and Max Romeo's War Ina Babylon, this album can be seen as part of a Black Ark Lee 'Scratch' Perry produced "holy trinity". At first, the title track seems to overshadow the other songs, but numbers like "Rescue Jah Children", "False Teaching" and the chilling "Lucifer" are just as potent. In 2003, Island re-released this classic album with five bonus tracks, including some previously unreleased disco mixes. Special mention must be made of "Rasta Get Ready", an inspired re-working of the Curtis Mayfield classic "People Get Ready".
