Polaris Fashion Place
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Polaris Fashion Place, opened on October 25, 2001, is a two level shopping mall on the northern edge of Columbus, Ohio, United States. The mall, owned locally by Glimcher Realty Trust, is located off Interstate 71 on Polaris Parkway. The mall's six anchor stores are Saks Fifth Avenue, Von Maur (formerly Lord & Taylor), Macy's (formerly Lazarus), JCPenney, Sears, and The Great Indoors; a former Kaufmann's at the mall is vacant and is currently being dismantled to make room for a new outdoor shopping area. The mall features more than 150 other stores, plus a food court located on the upper level. What more, the architecture of the stairwells of the mall were made to resemble a high heel shoe.
There is a 300 room Hilton Hotel under construction just southeast of the former Kaufmann's space. Numerous outparcels have recently been developed, including a Circuit City, Mimi's Cafe, BJ's Brewhouse, and the second branch of Mitchell's Steakhouse, owned by Columbus chef and restauranteur Cameron Mitchell.
As of October 1, 2007, pets are prohibited inside the center.
