| Description |
English: Simple interpolation example with polyharmonic splines where the polynomial term of the spline is not taken into account. The figure demonstrates that the extrapolation for x < 0 is no longer as "natural" as with the polynomial term for some of the basis functions. This indicates, that the polynomial term is useful if extrapolation occurs.
