Wikipedia:Pokémon Adoption Center/Next
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This page is to decide what to do next with the Pokémon articles, to attain the same sort of consistency that we have on the articles of individual species of pokémon.

[edit] Characters
We need a consistent naming scheme for Pokémon characters -- I think we currently have three different articles on Professor Oak, f'rex.
We also need categories for Pokémon characters. One possible scheme:
- Pokémon characters
- Pokémon gym leaders
- Hoenn gym leaders
- Kanto gym leaders
- Orre gym leaders
- Pokémon anime characters
- Pokémon manga characters
- Pokémon video game characters
- Pokémon gym leaders
Note many characters would be in multiple lists -- e.g., Koga and Lance. That could be a sticky situation.
We should also create a List of minor characters in Pokémon -- that is, memorable but non-recurring characters (such as AJ or Duplica).
[edit] Movies
We need to decide on a consistent naming scheme for the Pokémon movies (Pokémon The First Movie, Pokémon 2000, Pokémon 3, Pokémon 4ever, etc., or whatever we decide on) and create redirects to the agreed-upon names. We also need to get some more content in all the pages -- IMDB-type info, plot summaries, sales figures, first appearances, etc.
[edit] Video Games
In all the Pokémon video game articles which detail the 'standard' Pokémon games, there needs to be a section showing how the two games are different. (Different catchable pokémon, different subquests, different dialog, etc.)
[edit] Sonic Mew's proposal
Wikipedia: Pokémon Collaborative Project (PCP for short)
Strictly speaking, this was A Man In Black's idea, but I'm expanding it. Basically, we will have two articles at a time that we improve together to hopefully a featured article standard. If not that good, then at least a higher standard than before. The two articles will be categorised as such:
- A Pokémon species - As I have previously said, (and others seem to agree,) some of the articles still need improvements and cleaning up.
- Another article - The main games should probably come first, but characters, etc should definately follow suit.
It would be good if we could get one or two all the way to featured article status. I would suggest aiming to get Pokémon Red and Blue there, but some others can hopefully follow. But the most important aim is a high level of improvement in general.
