[edit] Work being done on portal/talk archived
This portal looks like it really needs to be improved. I will be working on this portal today. I have also archived the talk. Funpika 19:17, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

- well it serves almost the same function as navboxes and categories, and likewise it's very hard to be able to tell how many people really utilize it - i can only assume that being included within the PCP template gives it enough exposure. The point of the portal is to provide maximum usability to people interested in the topic of Pokemon in general. If there's any lack of point to it, it's because it has been in such a sad state for such a long time. Ideally, improving it will improve usability and use. And one goal to achieve is Featured status so we have another thing to brag about on the project space, lol :D -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 22:27, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Way to go, people! It'd be better, though, if the intro could show up in all of the subpages, like it does in the famed Science Portal. And the "Understanding Pokémon" section's blank, what's supposed to be put into it anyways? Plus the news still needs updating. [edit] intro in subpages
in response to raven's above post about the intro being visible on all subpages: i had considered the idea but actually disliked that it was done on each subpage and so decided to not (yet) follow in those footsteps. perhaps we can explore why and why not this would be done. I personally don't think it's useful to tell people what pokemon are all over again on each subpage as it's more than likely visitors will be first viewing the main page anyways and then go on to the other pages, it's redundant and a waste of space. However, perhaps instead we could come up with different intro for each subpage, explaining it's purpose? -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 03:38, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

i created this tab (being a little bold) to ideally group articles relating to mechanics and social impact. This tab is for people looking for non-species info trying to understand the pokemon phenomenon and concept. It's blank b/c i just got done doing a lotto work on everything else and wanted to give everyone a chance to comment. well, there's 13 pages at Category:Pokémon video game mechanics that i could see fitting in. Then Pokémon Contest, Criticism of Pokémon, Pokémon in other media, Pokémon Live!, Pokémon NetBattle, Poképark, Polkamon, Satoshi Tajiri, and Ken Sugimori. - well, i've made the category page a little more comprehensive. Here's the old version and a diff of all the changes, i still need to play around with formatting and comments to make it easier to edit, if anyone has criticisms or comments feel free to let me know, i tried to make it as usable as possible.
- all pieces of the portal puzzle are now either listed at Category:Pokémon portal components, redirects, talk pages, or merely preserved for historical interest and linked to from the appropriate page - i.e. if you can see it on the portal it's listed in the category.
- wikiprojects has been readded at Things you can do and updated with more related wikiprojects (cvg and japan).
- Templates have also been updated and reformatted at TYCD
- and other little various sizing changes and such
I still need to put together the Understanding Pokemon page, but until someone else gives me the go ahead i'm a little apprehensive. The DYK and collaboration still need to be implemented. -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 13:34, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
