- The American celebration of the Tenth Anniversary of Pokémon will be held in New York City's Bryant Park on Tuesday, August 8, which will include the finals of the Video Game Tournament, with the winner to be flown to Tokyo for the World Finals later this year.
- The Legendary Pokémon gracing the covers of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl have been officially identified.
- Other recently revealed Fourth-Generation Pokémon include:
- Perappu, which had previously been announced to be the first ever pure Flying-type Pokémon, has now been remodelled into a Normal/Flying-type Pokémon.

- The English names of two more Fourth-Generation Pokémon have been revealed:
- Pokémon Chronicles, a spin-off series of the Pokémon anime revolving around characters other than Ash Ketchum, is set to premiere in America on Saturday, 3rd June 2006 on Cartoon Network's Toonami block.
- It has been revealed that Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, due for release in Japan in Autumn 2006, is set in the new region of Shin'ou (Japanese name). The starting Town is called Futaba Town (Japanese name).

- It has been revealed that Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, due for release in Japan in Autumn 2006, is set in the new region of Shin'ou (Japanese name). The starting Town is called Futaba Town (Japanese name).
- It has been officially confirmed, though it had long been speculated, that Manaphy is completely unobtainable in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It must be traded from Pokémon Ranger.

- Pokémon Trozei, the latest Nintendo puzzler to grace the Nintendo DS, was released on the 6th March 2006 in America. The game features sprite versions of over 380 Pokémon which players must group together to win.
- The newest expansion set for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, EX Holon Phantoms, is set to be released on 3rd May 2006. The set will introduce "Delta Species" cards, a new form of dual-types, introduced to deepen game strategy.
- It has been revealed that Pokémon Ranger: The Road to Diamond and Pearl, the newest Pokémon RPG for Nintendo DS is to be set in the new region of Fiore, a continent far away from Kanto, Johto and Hoenn.

- It has been officially announced, though it has been long been speculated, that Tamanta, Manaphy and Buizeru (Some of the new Pokémon to debut in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl) are all Water-type Pokémon!
- It has been revealed that by pre-booking tickets to see Pokémon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea: Manaphy, and bringing your copy of Pokémon Ranger: The Road to Diamond and Pearl along, will unlock to extra sub-quests in the game! Though not much is known about these missions, it is known that one mission will feature Deoxys, while the other will feature Manaphy. The 9th movie Pokémon is in Japanese cinemas in July 2006.
- It has been officially announced, that Perappu is a pure Flying-type Pokémon, the first of it's kind in the game!
