Pokrovsk (Russian: Покро́вск) is a town in the Sakha Republic, Russia, located 78 kilometers (48 mi) south-west of Yakutsk on the Lena River. Population: 10,092 (2002 Census);[1] 9,283 (1989 Census).[2]

Founded by the Cossacks in 1682 as Karaulny Mys (Карау́льный Мыс), it later became a village (selo) of Pokrovskoye (Покро́вское). It was granted urban-type settlement status and renamed Pokrovsk in 1941, and it was granted town status in 1998.
