Pokémon Platinum, to be released in Japan as Pocket Monsters Platinum (ポケットモンスタープラチナ Poketto Monsutā Purachina?), is an announced title in the Pokémon series of video games. It will be an enhanced remake of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl,[1][2][3][4][5] in the same vein as Pokémon Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald.[6]

In May 2008, Pokémon Platinum was announced on the official Pokémon website to be slated for an Autumn 2008 release in Japan.[1][2] Release dates for other regions are currently unknown. The game will feature Giratina as its mascot and introduces its Origin Forme (オリジンフォルム Orijin Forumu?), as seen in Giratina to Sora no Hanataba: Sheimi.[1][7]
