I'm pretty sure it went Gold http://www.aria.com.au/pages/aria-charts-accreditations.htm as the australias official music site. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lillygirl (talkcontribs) 11:29, 23 March 2006.

Pointless Relationship went Platinum as it was comfirmed by Sony who actually sent out the singles. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Harry** (talkcontribs) 04:05, 25 March 2006.

ARIA is the industry that actually adds up all the sales and sets their position the chart. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lillygirl (talkcontribs) 12:32, 25 March 2006.

Yeah but I'm sure Sony would know how many copies they sent out. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.129.54.17 (talk • contribs) 00:07, 26 March 2006.

Yeah, sent out but it really depends on how many copies are sold. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 143.238.219.184 (talk • contribs) 11:44, 26 March 2006.

No on www.aria.com.au it says P = 70,000 Copies sent out. Ben Harpers new album didn't sell over 35,000 copies but they sent out that many. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.129.54.17 (talk • contribs) 06:48, 27 March 2006.

ARIA wouldnt lie and to debut at a high number at number 1 it would sell over 35,000. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lillygirl (talkcontribs) 09:27, 27 March 2006.

ARIA didn't lie, Ben Harper's record company shipped over 35,000 copies and since accreditations are based on shippings not sales, it appears as gold. Sales go to their placings not accreditations. http://www.aria.com.au/pages/aria-charts-faqs.htm#q3 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.129.54.17 (talk • contribs) 07:26, 28 March 2006.

If you read the title in that article called "How many sales does it take to reach . No.100, 50, 40, 10, 1..?" it says "For example, if a title goes Gold in 7 weeks it could be assumed that it has sold an average of 5,000 copies per week (35,000 sales/7 weeks)" it doesnt say sent out. And this argument doesnt seem to be getting anywhere so, You do what you know is right and i will do what i know it right. :) Sometimes I see a gold release debuting higher on the charts than a platinum title released in the same week. How does this happen? The ARIA accreditations are based on sales from the record companies to retailers, while the charts are based on sales from the retailers to the public. Sometimes a title purchased in great quantity by stores in anticipation of massive retail sales may sell more slowly than expected and a less highly anticipated release may exceed expected sales.

But yeah...

Someone PLEASE stop changing the accreditations! WWB single and PR single were accredited Gold and Platinum! SonyBMG confirmed it! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Harry** (talkcontribs) 10:18, 23 August 2006.

If you're talking about the article on her website [1] then Sony is not really confirming it, they are advertising people to buy the single. In this ARIA Report [2] it says where "These were in the top 100 last week" it says Pointless Relationship has gone gold because it has a <G> next to it. Lillygirl 11:33, 23 August 2006.

Well actually that would mean that it was confirmed because if it went Gold, Sony would have stated that. You don't know everything yet you edit everything on here to make yourself look better. Harry** 21:30, 6 September 2006.

Sony does not always state a certification, and if it had gone Platinum, ARIA could have stated it. I removed the certification until this talk is resolved. Lillygirl 13:20, 6 September 2006.
