Point Arguello

Point Arguello is a launch site of the United States Air Force at 34°37′N, 120°36′W. Point Arguello has been used since 1959 for the launch of military and sounding rockets. There are 6 launchpads at Point Arguello. Point Arguello is south of Vandenberg Air Force Base and is named for José Darío Argüello, a Spanish frontier soldier who was Commandant of the Presidio of Santa Barbara and acting governor of Alta California.
