[edit] Trimming the list

In order to keep this list from growing to be huge I believe we should restrict it to be for main articles about the entire poetry of a particular language or culture. These main articles can then refer to particular schools, styles, forms, historical periods of that particular poetry. Accordingly I have started removing links such as that to the Georgian school of British poets, of the Norse Eddas, and so forth. Stumps 13:07, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Nice job - that's a lot of work. Sam 13:13, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Of course, this is starting to beg the question of when we need a template for poetry genres (e.g., lyric poetry, epics) as there are a number of good articles on those. Sam 13:17, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps, to save space, the repetition of the word poetry should be removed, showing only the language/culture name but linking to the poetry article. The list is the same length but it will take almost half the space. Rigadoun (talk) 19:27, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Latin American Poetry

I just altered this template, changing Spanish American to Latin American poetry, in line with the fact that I just moved the relevant articles. --Jbmurray 11:22, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] cleanup

template is useless clutter as it stands. it needs to be structured by region and/or epoch; otherwise, it doesn't do anything that isn't already done by categorization. dab (𒁳) 12:52, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
