Poems by D. G. Rossetti

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Poems by D. G. Rossetti was the first anthology of poems published by Dante Gabriel Rossetti in 1870. It includes Sister Helen, Jenny and Eden Bower and some of the sonnet sequence, The House of Life.

Following the death of his wife, Elizabeth Siddal, Rossetti had interred most of his poetry with her body in Highgate Cemetery. Rossetti's friends later convinced him to exhume the poems which he did, publishing many in Poems by D. G. Rossetti and the remainder in Ballads and Sonnets in 1881.
