[edit] Neutrality
I do not feel that the article makes clear the differences between the rules of Podex played at different places. I think that the "Lee Abbey" Rules should be in the article as the "Oakley Holidays" rules are. Currently the "Lee Abbey" rules are treated as standard rules for Podex which is not balanced. - Agreed—and ditto for the Manchester Grammar School and St Paul's School rules. I'm interested to see that Podex is said to have originated at Manchester Grammar—is there any evidence for this? My understanding is that it has been being played at St Paul's since at least the 1800s. The games described here are vaguely recognisable variants, but very different from the way it's played at St Paul's. Does anyone know how it's played at Manchester Grammar? talkGiler 13:27, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

- I'm not sure that it has been played at St Paul's since the 1800s because the Christian Union summer houseparties have only existed since 1919. However, it does appear that the rules are very different. Ajn91 07:49, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

- Nominally, most versions of the game (according to an old hand) originated from the St. Pauls School holidays. To whit; St. Pauls School holidays did split to form Oakley Holidays, and Manchester Grammar School may play it due to a number of ex-Oakley Holidays members who may have taken it there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Caseykcole (talk • contribs) 22:21, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

- Agreed. I will do some rearranging of the article, as I think this seems to be the main problem.
- Also, Caseykcole, can you not edit edit your comments after you have posted them, unless absolutely necessary. Cowplopmorris 20:41, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

- Done. I think it perhaps has not completely met NPOV, so I have left the alert. I also feel the article does not flow. Cowplopmorris 21:47, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

- When i wrote the first version of this article I only knew of the game from my time at Lee Abbey, as well as some rather restricted research on the internet - my ignorance probably explains the lack of NPOV (complete restructuring is often difficult). I'm very happy with the way in which it has been extended, although it would be wonderful if the game's origins could be discovered. I actually live in Manchester and know a few people connected with the grammar school (including an old headteacher!) - I think I'll ask around! Photographs of other versions of Podex than the Lee Abbey version would be nice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BigNorwich (talk • contribs) 16:20, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
