(from Wayne Newton Article): Hello, Plutonium27. Forgive my wikignorance, I didn't see any other way to ask, but, wanting to learn, how are you sure that Newton's claim to be descended from Pocahontas is ridiculous? You may be correct, I'm not arguing, I am attempting to learn. My family has "known" for generations that we are descended from Powhatan/Pocahontas. So, in the seventies, I had an aunt, who lived back and forth between Scotland, England, and Mississippi for the most part of a decade, and who was obsessed with documenting that genealogy, and did so. She had a wheelbarrow full of documentation, she claims from multiple sources in every generation. Now, on subscription genealogical websites, it is very simple for me to trace my families' ancestry back to the Native American Princess. I admit that I haven't tried to trace Mr. Newton's, but I was only wondering if you actually knew his claims were false, or if you just assume it. Either way, I don't want to try and change any articles or anything, I only wanted to glean from your knowledge. ]. -- User:KaneCaldwellHarris 06:54, 10 Feb 2008 (CST)

(from my user talk page): Removing uncredited statements is sometimes okay -- it's something one has to consider on an article-by-article basis. As an alternative, you can insert {{fact}} after any uncredited statement. Or, you can insert {{weasel word}} after any claim that uses Weasel words. -- Mattbrundage 16:59, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Answer to "Professional level of English?"

Hi Plutonium27! Thank you for your message! I haven't edited my UserPage since last year, so it has more or less be like that since April 2006. I have studied English since I was 8 years old and I still study English in my Swedish High School. There is offcourse always many things that can be done better like gramma and punctions etc. I am able to speak and write English and I can have a conversation in English. As I am not a native English speaker I can not judge how good I am when speaking and writing English. Misstakes do happen. But I try to make less of them. The English language is a tricky language for non English speakers. I hope my English will be better and I hope I will get some help from TV series like Inspector Morse and Midsomer Murders. I will consider updating my UserPage and thank you once again for the message! Dr.Poison 00:51, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi Plutonium27! That's great to hear that you have been to Helsinki! YLE, which is like the BBC, usually sends more series from the UK. People who want to watch American movies usually watch MTV3 or Nelonen. I am a fan of British detective stories and drama series like Hustle, so if I would still live in Finland I would definetly watch YLE. I will keep your offer in mind! Thank you and Cheers! Well remembered - it was so-called after Trevor Nunn, who took exception to what he saw as humiliating of the acting professing. Forsooth! GWP 21:08, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Hemicorporectomy blog

No prob. It also seemed a bit fishy to me. Sometimes when looking at certain things (like this) I ask myself... how to find out if it's real, and how much of it is real. Anyway, thanks for removing the link - was a good thing to do. Cheers, Ouro (blah blah) 12:04, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hemicorporectomy

Hi,

I'm curious as to how you came to discover that the hemicorporectomy blog (halfman.blog.com/) is indeed a fraud. It seemed pretty real to me, but with your being a nurse and all, I'd like to know how you reached the conclusions you did. Cheers, --MosheA 19:56, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick response. I trust your judgment; I was just curious as to how you ascertained that the blog was a fake. I'm well aware of these sick fuckers, as I am interested in psychiatry, and find the subject of BIID to particularly fascinating. Thanks again, and cheers. --MosheA 22:27, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cathleen Falsani

There's a bit overuse of the phrase "to critical acclaim", but otherwise it doesn't seem too 'advertisy' to me and it's all right, even preferred, to name an author's awards. Can you be a bit more specific about what you think doesn't belong in the text? - Mgm|(talk) 16:22, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

I added a comment on the discussion page there. Cheerio.--Psycho Chicken 13:43, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

TY for the clarification. To the european "ear" ... what should we call this -"Wiki-Eye"-, the NATO-remark comes a little unexpected and is just hanging in the air. Cheerio.--Psycho Chicken (talk) 15:42, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jim Berg article

I have altered the phrase "biblical truth" to that of "biblical thought" (and offered both "doctrine" and "teaching" as alternatives on the Talk page, wherein I gave reasons for this edit). I subsequently noticed that you recently reverted just such a change. Religious belief should not be stated as a "truth" - this is NPOV. I've left it to others to choose which of the alternatives (or, of course, any others which correspond in meaning) to use. Plutonium27 (talk) 20:39, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

No problem. I removed the entire phrase because the meaning is clear from the previous sentence. I think, though, that you've confused me with someone else because my last edit to "Jim Berg" was eleven months ago.--John Foxe (talk) 21:32, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] ShamanDhia's notability

Thanks for the closing remarks on my talk page - I added some references to the Vitruvian man talk page, but citing that author invokes words like "flakey," so I don't know if it a notable source or not. the Hitochi Princess (talk) 16:48, 19 March 2008 (UTC)ShamanDhia
