Pluto's Kiss

Pluto's Kiss is a virus in the fictional .hack universe. On December 24, 2005, the virus, (written by a ten-year-old elementary school student in Los Angeles, California), caused a simultaneous crash of all computers and network control systems on the Internet that did not run on the ALTIMIT OS, which subsequently became the dominant operating system worldwide. Later the ten-year-old was thirteen when he was prosecuted.
The global network was able to recover in seventy-seven minutes, but the resulting chaos caused the nuclear defense and automated counter-strike systems in the United States to be armed, nearly causing a world-wide nuclear standoff. Taking full responsibility for the catastrophe, President Jim Stonecold resigned from office in January 2006.
