Plummer syndrome

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Plummer syndrome is a condition that can occur when a hyper-functioning nodule develops within a longstanding goiter. The result is hyperthyroidism, without the ophthalmologic effects of other conditions with increased levels of thyroid hormones like Grave's disease. These toxic multi or uni-nodular goiters are most common in women over the age of 60. [1][2]
