It's frustrating to see such simplistic sentences as "Please Mr. Postman, a song by the Beatles." It's not by the Beatles -- I know that's not what was meant by "by the Beatles", but let's adapt a more specific and clear way of describing such things. It's a Motown song co-written by unknown collaborators in Detroit, and it was made famous by the Marvellettes.
