Plecodus elaviae is a species of fish in the Cichlidae family. It is found in Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, and Zambia. Its natural habitat is freshwater lakes. It forms large schools, and feeds off of the scales of other fish. Being a bi-parental mouthbreeder, both parents care for the offspring.2
