Pleck

Pleck in the bourogh of Walsall neighbours Palfrey and stretches from the bridge on Wednesbury Road to Junction 9 of the M6 motorway. It consists of a large greenspace called pleck park and a few housing estates.
Pleck Park Pleck Park consists of 1 Large Playing field, Children's Playground, Two Small Fields, Two bowling Fields, Basketball Court, Tennis Court and a fenced football area. Around the park is a cycle path for people on bikes to use. People using the M6 alongside Walsall, Pleck can see the park from the left. The park is always in use by people of all ages.
Pleck Library Pleck's very own library is really popular, as it is always in use by youngsters of all backgrounds and races. Pleck library consists of up to eight computers with full internet access and multimedia. There are separate sections for adults and children.
Other Facts Poet Laureate 1843-50 William Wordsworth visited Pleck in 1847. As a student he studied the Japanese style of poetry and wrote a haiku style verse about Pleck, on the site of where the Belle Vue pub now stands on Manor road, Alumwell, Walsall. Also the Walsall to Wolverhampton railway line runs alongside pleck park which once consisted of pleck railway station.
