Plaza at King of Prussia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Plaza at King of Prussia is part of what is popularly referred to as the King of Prussia Mall, a huge shopping complex in King of Prussia, which is located in Upper Merion Township, Pennsylvania, in the United States.

The mall is located northwest of Philadelphia on Mall Boulevard, near the crucial juncture of the Schuylkill Expressway (Interstate 76) and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. U.S. Highway 422 and U.S. Highway 202 also meet at this interchange.

Its six department store anchors are Sears, JC Penney, Macy's, Lord and Taylor, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom.

Clarification: Enclosing the exterior portions of mall completed in 1981. Sears 'Store of the Future' concept was not launched until 1983, per SearsArchives.com time line. The Plaza store was, in fact, part of the concept and therefore opened post-1983. Exact date needs confirmation. Garden Food Court (located on the site of Korvette's former loading dock, behind a "dead end" wall at Gimbel store) didn't open until shortly before Sears store opened.
