Platina is a small unincorporated community of 200 people in Shasta County, California, approximately and equidistantly 40 miles west of Redding and Red Bluff. Its ZIP Code is 96076. Wired Telephone Numbers follow the pattern 530-352-xxxx.

The Saint Herman of Alaska Monastery, an Eastern Orthodox community of monks is located nearby.

In the state legislature Platina is located in the 4th Senate District, represented by Republican Sam Aanestad, and in the 2nd Assembly District, represented by Republican Doug LaMalfa. Federally, Platina is located in California's 2nd congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of R +13[1] and is represented by Republican Wally Herger.
