Platform Controller Hub (PCH) (Codename 'Ibexpeak') is the next generation southbridge chipset from Intel. It will replace the existing P45 and ICH10 chipset for all mainstream desktop motherboards. As the Nehalem (microarchitecture) has a majority of the northbridge built-in, so Intel will enter the next era of single-chip controllers in Q1 2009.[1]
