Plantiga technologies
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Plantiga Technologies Inc. is a start-up from Vancouver, Canada that is developing a new platform for footwear called Adaptive FIT. This novel design does not require a last during manufacturing and adapts to both the ground's topography and the individual's movements simultaneously.
This new footwear, once monitored, becomes an information tool about how a person walks. This data can be used in gait pattern recognition, sport performance analysis, activity recognition and ultimately biometrics. Inherent in its design is mobility and the persistence of data generation, which creates a wealth of possible applications across various marget segments. The company was founded by Quin Sandler and his father Norman Macx in 2006.
