Planet of Judgment is a Star Trek novel, written in 1977 by Joe Haldeman.
[edit] Synopsis
The crew of the Starship Enterprise goes on a routine diplomatic mission to the Starfleet Academy, where its sensors detect the presence of an unknown planet, orbited by a sun no larger than a pea. Naturally this seems to contravene all known scientific laws. Assuming that the star is artificially made, a landing party goes to the planet's surface, where they become trapped. Two crewmen get killed. They fall victim to what Mr. Spock has named the "Anomaly". This planet obeys no known laws of science and is not supposed to exist!
