PlanetOut Inc., a public media and entertainment company, exclusively targeting a segment of the LGBT demographic. It operates several LGBT-themed web sites including Gay.com and PlanetOut.com, and in November 2005 acquired LPI Media, the publisher of The Advocate, Out Magazine, HIV Plus, and Alyson Books.
In addition to acquiring RSVP Vacations, a gay cruise and events company, PlanetOut also maintains ownership of Specialty Publications, publishers of the three largest gay pornographic periodicals in the United States including Men, [2], Unzipped, and Freshmen. In April 2007, PlanetOut released a letter of intent to sell LPI and Specialty Publications to Regent Releasing, which owns here! Films.[1][2]
