Planaxidae are a taxonomic family of medium-sized sea snails, marine gastropod molluscs in the order Sorbeoconcha.

This family is related to the Cerithiidae but with a simple aperture, channelled, but only slightly notched at the anterior end.
Distribution is worldwide.
