The Planalto Hermit (Phaethornis pretrei) is a species of bird in the Trochilidae family, the hummingbirds. It is found in the cerrado, caatinga, and pantanal of Brazil, also Bolivia, and Paraguay; a minor region extends into north-central Argentina. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and heavily degraded former forest.
