Placostylus bollonsi caperatus is a subspecies of very large, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Bulimulidae, the bulimulus snails and their allies.
This subspecies is critically endangered.

This land snail is endemic to the Three Kings Islands of New Zealand.

This subspecies is found at an altitude of about 500 ft under cover of stunted ngaio (Myoporum) scrub.
[edit] Shell description
The shell is smaller and narrower than the typical Placostylus, with a taller spire.
The shell height is up to 97 mm, and width up to 36 mm.

Placostylus bollonsi caperatus is classified by the New Zealand Department of Conservation as being Nationally Critical.
