Placostylus ambagiosus spiritus was a subspecies of very large, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Bulimulidae, the bulimulus snails and their allies.
This subspecies is extinct.

This snail was endemic to the Spirits Bay area of Northland in the North Island of New Zealand.

The shell is small to moderate in size, somewhat resembling Placostylus ambagiosus worthyi but having more developed apertural processes, particularly the basal lip tubercle.
The shell height is up to 79 mm, and width up to 34 mm.
