Talk:PKCS

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

From wikitext (hidden except when editing) in the article:

-- needed: list of PKCS standards (about 13?) with, for each: short description, use in other standards (eg, RFCs), other uses (eg in PGP certificates), and current version number + such additional notes as seem necessary as the problem with PKCS1 certificate security --

Put here so as to be more visible to those interested in PKCS and its article. ww 19:51, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Where's PKCS#2 and PKCS#4?

Numbers 2 and 4 are conspicuously missing from the sequence. I assume they were simply withdrawn, but if anyone knows the story it'd be cool if the article told the tale. Saucepan 19:17, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)

They have been withdrawn since they became part of other standards. I have really never seen them when they were active so some history digging would have to be done. Maybe some time... --Schnolle 00:06, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)
