The Xeno Project is a Half-Life mod which continues the story of the original Half-Life game.

The player in the role of Gordon Freeman accepts the G-Man's offer to work for him. Scientists have begun terraforming Xen and are now further researching portal technology. The player is meant to take part in an experiment; however, the military doesn't trust the project. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]

As with all Half-Life mods, this mod increases the value of Half-Life by adding free 3rd party created content. It was one of the first (Half-Life) mods as well, being released in 1999. (See date of reviews, e.g. Ethereal Hell, Lambda Map Complex, ten four. The release date in the readme file (2002) probably refers to an updated version as there were compatibility problems with newer versions of Half-Life, see the news on the official website.)
