Pittsford Crew is rowing club in Rochester, New York and was established in 1998. The club is located on theErie Canal near Lock 32.
Pittsford Crew's facilities include The William C. Warren III Boathouse and Pittsford Indoor Rowing Center(PIRC).The William C. Warren III Boathouse, is 5000 sq. ft and holds numerous eights, fours and other smallers boats. The majority of the boats housed there are of the Vespoli brand amongst Empachers and Resolutes. The Pittsford Indoor Rowing Center (PIRC) was just recently added to the property within the past few years. It is a 5100 sq.ft. indoor rowing tank facility. Within the PIRC up to 32 rowers can be accommodated and a current can be created as an option to row with. The club is a member of USRowing and participates in regattas all along the northeast. Pittsford Crew hosts one home Regatta in the fall called the Pull the Plug Regatta which is done as a finale to the season, before the erie canal is drained. Pittsford Crew also hosts a regatta in the spring, The Pittsford Regatta. Over the past few years these regattas have doubled the amount of participants and the amount of states that participate have greatly expanded. For children that are interested in getting into this sport Pittsford Crew has a learn to row program held over the summer that will teach local students from the grades 8 to 12 how to row and the basics of the sport.
