Pitkerro

Pitkerro is an area of Dundee, Scotland located in the eastern part of the city. The area is immediately north of Douglas and south of Fintry and Whitfield. The area is also home to West Pitkerro industrial estate. The city councilor for the area is the SNP's Christina Roberts.
Pitkerro has 5 Schools (3 Primary Schools and 2 High Schools) with 1,994 pupils in total. The oldest, St. Saviours R.C High School is scheduled to close in 2008 due to decreasing pupil numbers. It will be merging with Lawside Academy.
Together, Pitkerro, Kirkton and Hilltown contain 31% of Dundee's enumeration districts which fall within the worst 10% of deprived districts in Scotland.[citation needed]
In 1998 an MECCA Bingo opened in the Douglasfield area of Pitkerro with an ODEON Cinema opening two years later.
The area is served by Dundee bus routes 8 Inner Circle and the 15, 17 and 17A Whitfield Hopper.
