Pithampur is a town and a nagar panchayat in Dhar district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is an industrial estate eight kilometres from Mhow, which falls in the adjoining Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, India. Pithampur is a hub for the automobile manufacturing industry and in addition to units like Eicher Motors,Kinetic Honda, Hindustan Motors and Bajaj Tempo Ltd.

It is the biggest industrial area in asiaAs of 2001 India census[1], Pithampur had a population of 68,051. Males constitute 58% of the population and females 42%. Pithampur has an average literacy rate of 62%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 47%. In Pithampur, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.
