[edit] Kraken

Why is a template for CHARACTERS required on a page about a SEA MONSTER? Gender? Eye Colour? Hair Colour? We don't even know if this thing even has any. Why is a character template so necessary for a page that is NOT about a character, yet on other character pages it isn't added, like Bootstrap Bill? Dac 07:47, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Bootstrap Bill Turner is done. Feel free to remove it from The Kraken is you think it doesn't apply (perhaps discuss it on the Kraken talk page first). Hoof Hearted 13:58, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
There's always the 'If' statement... I jput Master and Ships Attacked in there since they were the least used when I looked... -- Ipstenu (talkcontribs) 00:17, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Gender and "sex" are not the same thing, as I assume you are using "gender" to speak of the physical sex of the character (male=penis, female=vagina). If that's the case, it should be called "sex" and should be removed unless there are characters who's sex is not clear. Per the fictional character infobox guidelines on WP:WAF, if it's obvious you don't report it. Elizabeth is obviously a female inregards to her sex, as Will and Jack are obviously male. That's clear from the image. As opposed to say ... Jabba the Hutt who's sex isn't so clear. If you mean "gender" as it is supposed to mean, then I would expect a citation that says one character is male and one is female, as Jack has some clear feminine tendencies, where as Will fits more of the mascaline prototype. The same would go for "race". Will and Elizabeth are obviously "white", and thus the area would not need to be mentioned in the infobox, but no one is to say what Davey Jones' mens' race is, because we've never seen then in any other form (other than the final moments of AWE, good luck tagging races to the right people). Thus, a citation that clarifies the race of one of them (should they have a need for their own article) would be necessary.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 21:21, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
