[edit] Speedy deletion?
This article has been flagged with a speedy deletion request. One my talk page the reason given was "this article has practically no information at all".
You'll please pardon my annoyance as I don't mean to inject emotion into the job at hand, but I find this rationale patently absurd and a bit frustrating. Yes, there is little content so far. It's called a "stub". The page is short because, as indicated at the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Pinball, we have a lot of work to do. Most of the machines in the pinball games category are about as short, and the number of stubs so far is about 1% of the number of games that exist, not to even mention the myriad of other topics that will eventually need to be attended to.
That, however, does not mean that the page has "practically no information at all". The infobox plus the link to the Internet Pinball Database is easily enough starter information, which is what a stub is. Furthermore, none of this meets any of the 12 general criteria for speedy deletion. The closest anything on that page comes to applying to this case is the first point in the "Articles" section, and even there I quote, "Limited content is not in itself a reason to delete if there is enough context for the article to qualify as a valid stub", and in this case there clearly is enough context. Pinball might not be the hugely popular game today that it once was, but most people know of it, many still play it, and the article itself is relevant not only to that but to the motion picture franchise it is based on, which is currently one of the more popular topics in pop culture.
I'm sorry that we have not yet made every pinball page a Featured Article candidate. As I said, there is a lot of work to do. But a look at well-done pages like Twilight Zone (pinball) should make it clear that this work is in the process of being done. Please be patient and let this work continue. Furthermore, please do not so badly misapply the speedy deletion procedure. That procedure is meant for obviously pointless pages, which this is clearly not. Even if you wanted to still argue for deletion, this falls under normal deletion procedures, not speedy. But I hope you see now that we should not even waste anyone's time with that. This article is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it, not deleting it. Thank you. Fractalchez 19:26, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Pirates Carribean pinball machine.jpg
Image:Pirates Carribean pinball machine.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
