[edit] Fair Use Rationale

The building depicted in part in this image might still be copyrighted by its architect Pier Luigi Nervi, but use of this image to illustrate related articles on wikipedia is believed to qualify as fair use under U.S. copyright law.

While the Pirelli Tower itself is still protected in Italy (architect Pier Luigi Nervi died in 1979), this image shows only the damage to the building after the 2002-plane crash. Use of this image in articles about this event and eventually about aviation accidents should qualify as Fair use. As to my knowledge this is the only wikimedia-available image of this event. (Nearly) All images of the Pirelli Tower have been deleted from Commons recently.
