[edit] Summary
Image has been crafted from three FITS files taken with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope WFPC2 camera through narrow-band filters of 502nm, 656nm and 673nm. These FITS files are freely available at NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope website at www.spacetelescope.org. The Author, Piotr Wachowicz, composed those 'monochromatic' images into the colourful version. Also he added some computer generated stars into the background and upper-right corner of the image, as the original FITS images were blank in this area (as can be seen on other Eagle Nebula Images) in order to enrich the overall detail. Also, different colours have been used for the representation of FITS than in the original Eagle Nebula image.
